Honestly i have no idea why i like this painting so much. There something about it that make me think this painting is so awesome. First time i saw it, i cannot say for sure that i get what this painting trying to tell. My first impression was the person in the front afraid of meeting the other two person in the back ( of course it was a ridiculous thought ).
Edvard Munch wrote in his diary that his inspiration for The Scream came from a memory of when he was walking at sunset with two friends, when he began to feel deeply tired. He stopped to rest, leaning against the railing. He felt anxious and experienced a scream that seemed to pass through all of nature.
Here is the most shocking part that i learned from this painting. On May 2012, The Scream was sold for 119.9 Million Dollars at an auction in Sotheby's, New York. Unbelievable. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/05/03/arts/design/the-scream-sells-for-nearly-120-million-at-sothebys-auction.html?_r=0
Have a good day everyone!!!
